What is Gray Around the Edges?
Welcome to your best resource for ideas, information and inspiration to experience all life has to offer! Gray Around the Edges is designed to provide weekly motivation and resources for opportunities to both serve your community and fulfill your desire for adventure. Each month you will find articles featuring ways to serve your community through volunteering, ideas to get you out of the house and start having fun, as well as articles to help you feel more confident in stepping out of your comfort zone.
One week a month a nationally recognized and local (DFW) non-profit is spotlighted to inform you of ways to get more involved in serving others. This particular week's blog and daily social media posts will help you fill your "legacy" bucket list. Two weeks of each month are focused on creating great stories to tell. These posts feature ideas for your "adventure" bucket list. They include resources and information about travel, different types of classes, local events and festivals and many other ways to get you off the couch and on a road to adventure. The fourth blog of the month is geared toward personal growth. These blogs include topics such as living outside your comfort zone, finding your purpose, dating (or not) etc. These are the posts that will encourage you to get out and DO your bucket list.
In addition to the weekly blog posts, be sure to follow Gray Around the Edges on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter to get daily bites of inspiration. These will often be related to the week's blog but will also include lots of random stuff like, health and wellness, funny or inspirational quotes and ideas to simplify your life.
Before you head off and explore the rest of the website, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kelley Gatewood. I am a native Texan and have raised my two daughters in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas. Professionally speaking, I received a BS in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas in 1991 and began my career as a certified, self employed personal fitness trainer. In 1994, I earned my massage therapist license and added that to my fitness business. Currently, I am practicing full time as a massage therapist in far north Dallas. I love what I do for a living but leaving a legacy is what really gets me excited. I am a lay leader in a large church in Richardson where I spearheaded the middle age singles ministry which I continue to help lead as well as teach their Sunday School class. I have also lead the single parent's outreach ministry and have co taught the divorce recovery class. In order to better serve the members of these groups, I became a certified Life Coach through Christian Coach Institute in 2012. These past experiences and my passion for living life to it's fullest (especially now that I'm an empty nester and have more time on my hands) have led me to a point in my life of wanting to serve others through shared information and encouraging words.
I hope you'll stick around, explore the website and please take a moment to sign up for my weekly newsletter so you won't miss out creating lots of memorable stories and meaningful legacies!
